Bowen Hammitt continues released recently from the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital to finish recovery at home
In a story that we've been closely following since earlier this year, we are excited to report that Bowen Hammitt, son of CCM recording artist Matt Hammitt, has finally returned home following open heart surgery on July 31.
Bowen, Matt, and Sarah Hammitt all left Michigan on Friday, August 9 to head back to Ohio. In a public statement released on Matt's Instagram account, he says:
It’s not the end of recovery, but it’s the big step we’ve been looking forward to! We stayed at the Ronald McDonald House last night and headed to Ohio this morning where we will stay with relatives for a few days.
On Wednesday, July 31, Bowen Hammitt, the son of Matt Hammitt, underwent open heart surgery for the third time. The family, at the time, had reached out on social media asking for prayer while additionally also releasing a special music video on Facebook and YouTube for his song "Safe Right Here". The video can also be seen below.
Bowen Hammitt, with help from his dad and the support of so many others, released his own project of songs. You can stream his song "Safe Right Here" and others on Spotify, and also hear the "Village Mix" version here.
